The two talented players, Eddie and Seb Shelton, were both scouted and subsequently invited to join the Doncaster following great performances and exhibiting significant development during their time with us here at Worksop Town Academy.

Eddie signed with Doncaster in October 2022 as a goalkeeper for the under 10s, and has just been offered a further contract to remain with the team for under 11s. Prior to this he showed excellent potential whilst here Worksop Town Academy from February 2022.

Eddie’s brother, Seb, has been playing at Doncaster Rovers since April 2022 and has just completed his under 8s season alongside playing for Worksop Town under 9s Academy side. Playing in goal at Doncaster, and outfield at Worksop, he has just been offered his first contract at the Doncaster Rovers Academy in the under 9s team as a goalkeeper.

Adam Pilgrim, Head of Foundation at Doncaster Rovers had this to say about the boys:

“Eddie & Seb have both been an absolute pleasure to have since coming in here at Rovers. They’re both great characters who clearly love learning and improving their game, and they’ve worked really hard to achieve a place in the academy.

Eddie & Seb, and their families, have spoken very positively about the experience both boys have had in grassroots football and at Worksop Town Academy, which has clearly had a positive impact on their development so far.”
