Their focus on a variety of training methods, combined with the opportunity for additional support through extra sessions, offers a comprehensive package designed to help players improve their performance both on and off the field.

James Ahern, Strength and Conditioning Coach at Lync Active said:

We‘re really looking forward to getting going with the academy. The emphasis on fitness in professional football has skyrocketed in recent years, and we’ve put together a package that will help players develop the tools to physically compete at any level. The team sessions will provide a grounding in a variety of training methods and additional sessions will be available for those who want extra support.

Steve Stennett, Head of Academy said:

The benefits of having a S&C Coach working within and across the academy offers numerous long-term benefits for athletes, both on and off the field. These benefits extend beyond just improving physical performance.

It will support improved athletic development which will also support injury prevention. That all important mental toughness and discipline will be enhanced, which will again support better performances in our competitive settings, all of which will lead to improved confidence and self belief.

These continuous S&C sessions will have that all important holistic approach/development leading to long term benefits especially when players are looking to transition in either semi/professional football.
